I had the pleasure of taking the PBOT Traffic and Transportation class at Portland State University this year and not surprisingly given my work advocating for improvements to North Interstate Avenue, that was my project for the class.
My presentation went beyond the scope of the letter I wrote with Ted Buehler and which I sent to Commission Novick (whose Chief of Staff was included in the panel to whom I presented) and PBOT Director Leah Treat (who was on the panel along with Chris Smith of Portland Transport). As a result, this presentation and the speaking notes are mine alone and shouldn't be attributed to any of the groups who signed onto the letter sent in October.
However, I want to include this information up for people who could not attend the presentations themselves to stimulate comments about what could be next to improve the safety of N Interstate Ave between Tillamook and the Rose Quarter for all road users.
